Fair warning I'm back! Michigan was.......well what I expected. There were a few bright spots for me, got some new tools and some woods I could never afford here in AK. Hooked up with some high school friends, I also had the pleasure of meeting "Ted in Michigan" at a show in the Detroit area, Ted dose excellent work and I wlaked away from our meeting very happy to have made the extra effort to meet him and see his work, Thanks again Ted!

Rick's a hoot. Showed up at the show (with his really wonderful wife). Full beard, Alaska sweatshirt, etc, and announces "Is this the stereotype you expected?". Well, yes. And he's right. We had a real nice visit. As I mentioned in my other post, Rick does really neat work in some not-so-common materials. I was especially struck by his walrus tusk and petrified whalebone pens (hope I got them materials right, Rick). Who woulda thought?

Holz:
The wife and I had a good time hunting, didnt see much in the way of game but anytime afield is better than none at all. our time in Detroit was much harder on me than the warm weather in the woods.

That is the truth, "It is better to have a bad day huntin' (or fishin') that a good day at work."

I have to ask.......the translation of Holz Mechaniker is wood mechanic, however there is also a company called Holz racing that makes high performance snowmobiles and atv's. Here is my question..........do you work for Holz racing or is your handle limited to wood working?

My handle is my handle. Didn't know of Holz Racing until you posted.
