i've never cut a dado or rabbet before and am preparing to for a few projects i'll be working on this summer. i always see norm use the auxiliary fence on his table saw. i suppose i could just clamp a piece of wood to my fence, but how do you get the blade area cut out? do you just trace the profile and bandsaw it out or do you actually ease it onto the blade somehow?

any tips, suggestions or otherwise would be appreciated. or if you've got some pics of your aux fence, i'd love to see those also.

thanks!

set the aux. fence over the blade while it is lowered, then slowly raise it to the height desired.;)
Make sure not to hit your regular fence, especially if it is alum.[B)]
