Branden,

I read the PDF. COOL!!

However, I want to be certain my assumption is correct.

I have kept the XML files for several years, could I import each of them into this database and then be able to search it?

Thanks (BIG thanks if this will assimilate all that information and make it searchable)!!

Hi Ed,

Not sure if I have a correct answer.

Suggestion #1

Create one database. Download the current PMs from IAP. Import the current to the database. Verify the current PMs are imported properly. Then import your previous archives (that you kept). If all work properly, then you are good. If not, get out of the program, delete the database that you just play around with.

Recreate a database and repeat the steps. And this is your "current PM database:

Suggestion #2

Create two databases (page 4 of the tutorial). One for the old PMs, and one for the current PMs.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the quick answer,

I'll let you know what happens, but I will probably wait until tomorrow to try---looks like I may need a "bright light bulb" which does NOT occur in the afternoon:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Hi Jeff,

Written a tutorial to set up vBulletin PM Reader.

Please add attached to the library, if the document is up to standard.

Branden,

I will review (with the assistance of some good right hand persons) and get back to you regarding inclusion in the IAP Library.
Thanks
Tom

Branden, I downloaded it and tried the newest PMs it worked, but your link says not downloadable so I went to the site and found where to download it form. I am going to try my old Pms.

Branden, and Ed, it does work even on the old stuff. i now have this program reading everything I have stored in my computer form the day one I joined IAP. although at times I deleted some PMs that I didn't know what to do with them ,but I saved them in my comp. I will try and see how I will transfered them into this PM file.
BTW, I first did what yousuggested and opened up a new file with the latest PMS then while it was opened I went to the latest XML file on my comp and aske the program to download it so it did and combined my old PMs and new one by date chronologically.
Ed, if you have problems call me I walk you through it.

Sorry about that Phil.

If anyone have trouble with link in the PDF file, use this one --> http://vcldeveloper.com/products/products-freeware/vbulletin-pm-reader/

Adobe pdf writer converted the minus sign to some weird codes
