I am currently unable to print decals as my software is not installed on my new computer. I really need to make a pen for my uncle who was an Army medic in WWII. His favorite outfit was the Army of Occupation. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it. Imagine the job this guy had. He has never talked about it. He is now 93 and likes pens. Thanks for any help.

I just installed some decal printing software and I have paper on hand .... shoot me the image you want and I'll post it to ya.

Alternatively, I could look some stuff up and throw this together ....

Was he stationed in Germany or over in Japan? There's a reverse of this medal that depicts Mt Fuji...

He was in Japan. I finally found the patch I need.

Let me know if you need anything else. BTW, this will need to be sized to fit the upper barrel of a cigar pen. Thanks!

do you still need these printed? What type of pen will you use? I have a bunch of decal paper and print on laser jet........Please let me know.....please email me in my signature....I will not be on here until tomorrow sometime.

Thanks for the 'phone call Chuck. Nice to hear from you. I looked over my stash and could only find the Fire Medic EMT. Glad you were able to get help from SKIE_M. Keep in touch.

Skie_m I was wondering what software it was you used and where can you get this decal paper you mention? I need to come up with a Navy and a Marine pen before Christmas and I have been running myself ragged trying to find small enough stickers or decals. Will more than likely be putting on either 3/8" or 10mm tubes.

Hobby Lobby carries the paper and bonder spray. "Testors" brand. 6 sheets of 5.5" x 8.5". Either white or clear paper. Normally about $12.00 per package but if you use their coupon you can get it for like $7.00 per pack.

So I take it it doesn't matter what software is used as long as you can print it out on an inkjet printer? Think Michael's would have it as well? The paper is Testors brand?

yes. I have used Photoshop as well. Any program where you can size your image or add any text you might want. So basically any type of photo editing software will work.

I've been copying the image to my photo file and then copying that to a letter doc (word processor) where resizing is easy. I can then print and do the usual stuff. I've been getting good results so far.

Hey guys, I buy my decal paper from decalpaper.com. You can get the inkjet and laser, but you get full sheets of the decal paper. Hope that helps!
