Atrax Rollerball barrel length

Hey, quick question for those who have worked with an Atrax rollerball.

Can the length of the upper or lower barrel be extended or do the components prohibit that freedom? I was wanting to lengthen the upper barrel a bit and wanted to make sure.

The cap won't matter to be longer.

The pen tube will need a spacer or something added or a longer spring in the back or the refill tip won't stay out.

I needed a little more length for my Ark of the Covenant pen.

If you do a fountain pen instead of a roller, the length won't matter at all as far as
components are concerned.

For what it's worth. When I need a spacer in an Atrax roller (usually because I switched to a postable finial, but sometimes because I added length) I cut up the little plastic cover that comes on the roller refill and stick that in the end. Works great.
