Here are a couple of wine glass stems and a bottle stopper I made out of aspen wood from Aspen Colorado for a wedding present for some friends.
This was attempt #1 and #4. Attempt #2 broke on the lathe, and attempt #3 was dropped while applying the finish
(clear gloss polyurethane... about 10 coats... until the wood stopped sucking it in). I was going to put some fancier shape on the stopper, but ended up liking the way it looked without doing anything to it.
What are your thoughts?
