In the last week or so I recall seeing a new American made pen kit advertised. I believe it was at either Woodcraft or CSUSA. Can't seem to find the kit (my search skills are woefully inadequate, as is my patience). Can anybody help here?

You can get the American Made kit from Constant (Lazerlinez) or he sells them to WoodCraft, you may find them there.

There is also another member "Marksman" who sells a similar American-made pen set.
You could PM him for more information. Mark from "Marksman" was actually the first to announce an American made pen on IAP.
