I bought a small bottle from MAPG vendor. I actually forgot it until I was cleaning up the shop. Any comments on usage and durability would be helpful.

And it's ok to ask without searching too.

I used some craft coat once. It does a good job, but I think CA will give a shinier finish. I can't really speak to how long it lasts, and I don't think anyone else can either. It hasn't been out all that long. Less than a year I think. At least I didn't hear about it till around January.

I'm using it.

I have had trouble with CA finishes cracking. I bought a quart of it from the manufacturer. There is a video from exotic blanks on YouTube on how to apply it. I don't wait as long before buffing it though. About two or three hours. It produces a good shine I'm not sure how long it will last yet though. Try it out and use lots of thin coats.

Does anyone using this have what looks like little 'paint brush' or swirl marks in the finish?

I have viewed the Exotic Blank video, but he uses a buffing station which I don't have. He also uses a foam pad, which makes my finish worse.

I have tried quick application, slow application, little product, more product, once across, across and back a couple times, dry rag each time, same spot each time, and no matter what I have a finished product with little swirl or paint brush marks on it. Not real noticeable, but noticeable enough.

I like the protection it gives for my application.

Any tips?

You can apply several coats of craft coat similarly to that of CA. 30-90 seconds between coats. You will hit a point of sticky where the craft coat will need time to cure. If you want an immediate finish, satin will be the best you can consistently do.

For an overnight cure (unless you are in an arid and rather warm area), you can achieve a high gloss shine using micro mesh same as you would with a CA finish.
