I'd like to hear opinions on the Grizzley 10x16 vs lathe.
Have any of you Gents used one or seen a good review of the G0657?
All opinions are welcome.

I can't speak for the G0657, but I've used an H8259 for almost 5 years without any problems. If you can make it to one of the Tent Sales ( read dropped and kicked ) you can upgrade for less money, if you can replace some parts. As an example, I bought a $225.00 planer for $39.00, the parts to fix it cost $48.00. All the tags say what is broken, which helps.

We have have the slightly bigger brother, G0658, and with the exception of a switch and now the readout going after the warranty was up, it has performed well. The switch was easy to replace and the readout is not worth the trouble to change since I go by how the turning is going to set the speed. Good enough to have a second, (still in the box  ), so that Marla (Crickett) and I have a his and hers.

Interesting - I have had EXACTLY the same experience with this same lathe (G0658).

I got it August 2008, and it now needs bearings replaced in the headstock (they are ticking). I also don't believe this lathe runs as true as my Delta 10x16? mini-lathe.
