My uncle just gave my bro a bucket of the stuff and I'm curious about what people have to say about it. Supposedly it has to be kept warm while stabilizing. Has anyone tried it?

I did a wikipedia check to verify what I remembered about PEG. Well I sure didn't remember that PEG is used in laxatives and sexual lubricants. [:0] Honest, that's what it said. The thing about PEG is that it binds the water in the wood. Finishing is really difficult because the water is bound in the wood. I think sanding is also difficult. I think there are better ways to work with drying turning blanks. I'm sure that the wood won't be harder if you are trying to stabilize.
