I noticed that the surplus place near me has 12" HSS brad point bits for cheap - I think like 2-4 bucks each.. I'll confirm that in the morning.. they only have them by 16ths up to 1/2" though.. any interest?

Could be, some of the other turning kits (besides pens) need longer drills than normal. The handle for the magnifying glass comes to mind. Keep us posted.

Looks like the bits start a 1/8" for $1 and go up to 1/2" for $4.00.. the fluts are approx standard length, which makes them similar to aircraft drills (long shaft, regular length flutes)
