If anyone is around the area or within a hundred miles that would like to get together with other pen turners and meet every now and again, let me know and we will try to set up a local chapter in your area. I may even take a ride out for the first meeting if time allows.

Coulda just said yes... LOL

Neil, I have wanted to set one up for a while but not too many people near me. I know Butch is in Jersey which I could make it a point to meet in the middle but then there are no places to meet. My local woodcraft is about 1 1/2 hours away and about 3 1/2 from Butch. I know CAV isnt too far either so if anyone wants to set something up, please let me know...

You wanna put a note up asking if anyone is near or within 100 miles from hawley, PA or Scranton..

You mean the Pittsburgh PA area right? :)

yea yeah, I know I know, but for those of you that do not and have not lived in this area the H really can be a big deal to those natives of the 'burgh.

@UASFVET98 - I could have, but then Neil is already well aware of my interest thus this thread, and the thread I posted to the Tri-State forum.

To a lot of of the "natives" in this area misspelling our city name is about equal if not more despised than misspelling their birth name. Being that you are in the Scranton area, I am sure you can relate with this as the Scranton / Clarks Summit region has some of the same quirks with a similar industrial / mining history.

I by no means was/am trying to be derogatory, just passing along some information and history based on a typographical error.

I apologize for the misspelling of the city name, it was done out of speed and there was no intent to commit any insult to the citizens of Pittsburgh. Please accept my apology and in the future I will attempt to have the city renamed for ease of my typing.

@Neil well aware, just after reading I saw how it could have come off a little brash reading my reply as well, thus why I followed up.

I am a transplant myself, only been in the area for about 11 years after departing the ARMY. When roaming around learning the city and history of the region it became very apparent this was a quirky area that has lots of history as well as a very loyal community base that spans generations and classes of society.

back on topic if we can get more than 2 or 3 people interested, then lets start having some of the fun the other regions enjoy with regular and semi-regular meetings.
