My beloved and I will be heading east at the end of September in celebration of our 47th wedding anniversary (it's in early October). While out that way, we will be attending the Mid Ohio Valley Pen Turners Gathering in Marietta OH on the 27th and 28th of September. Hope to see some of you IAP/MPG folks there sharing and enjoying some pen turning camaraderie! Thais will be 2 out of the 3 pen turning dedicated events for me of the year. Tentatively planning (about 75% sure) on going to MATE next year as well to complete the trifecta of 2026.

Haven't been to MOVPTG, but was at MATE this year - and I thought it was well done - would recommend it! Am planning to go again in 2026. Hoping also to get to MPG outside of Chicago in 2026.....which I hear is also a good one for penturners.

The MPG is not only the oldest pen turning dedicated event (2007) it is the best as far as I am concerned but I am a bit partial! I am looking forward to the MOVPTG and see what Jason Rose has done with it. I am sure it is a great event as well.

The MOVPTG is not a new rendition of the original MPG. The MPG went from from Indiana, to Ohio, to Chicago. The MOVPTG has never been an continuation of the MPG. Separate venues, separate histories, each has its benefits.

As you (Cozee) have in your signature... "
The Midwest Penturner's Gathering, the original pen turning event of it's kind!
Often imitated but never duplicated!

Greg - you have every right to be partial (but glad to see you do both). Not only was the MPG your baby - it has grown and hope you know how important your idea was for this. I believe I went to the second one and have gone ever since.

And most importantly - you are a member of the MPG Hall Of Fame. Glad to see you doing both.
