Anybody notice Jet has a new mini?

Seems a little over priced to me. Of course I have not seen it in person yet. I am not sure how it will compete with other minis. I guess when you add the wider rails you have to pay for the extra cast iron.

I don't know that I've ever heard someone accuse anything Jet of being a steal of a price. :-/ They're priced at $50 more than current models I believe.

At that point I think it would be hard not to spend the extra money for the 1221.

Hmmm, looks like they adopted the failsauce practice of weakening the head assembly by the ever larger plastic cover. So I would guess expect some rattle, vibration etc from that area.

Also looks like they are still using paint instead of powder coating.

Motor is still under the head and catches everything that drops.

out of the three that are true of my 1221, only the paint bugs me a little bit. No vibration from the headstock cover here. Magnet holds it on well and quiet.
