Has anybody ever found a kit or figured out a way to make drawer handles out of pieces of turned wood? I'm thinking of the kind that are like this:

http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=10637

where you'd be able to use a round pen blank type piece on the part that would be parallel to the drawer face

or something like this:

http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=494

where again, the wood part could be the part parallel to the drawer face that is the hung down part.

If anybody knows of any kits or know of some way to rig something like this up (if anybody was able to understand my lousy description- sorry it's so pathetic), could you please let me know. My dad and I are thinking that it seems like a natural thing to be able to use turned wood pieces for, but we haven't found anything anywhere yet (we've already copyrighted the idea ;);)).

May I suggest that you purchase inexpensive drawer pulls from the DOLLAR STORE($) and substitute the 'cheap' faux plastic wood with your choice of turned 'real' wood. Utilize the hardware that comes with the cheapies.

I looked at some once for a project I was making. The wood on the ones I was looking at actually was just a wrapper, the metal went all the way through. Messed around several hours trying to make just one that fit right and decided the wood that came on them looked better than I thought.[;)]

I do like the ones Peter has above, those might be doable.[8D]
