Just had a friend at work ask if it was possible to make a pen out of Carbon Fiber. I have no clue how Carbon Fiber even comes.(liquid, sheet, fabric, ect...)

The only way I've seen it is in fabric form like fiberglass. As such, you could probably cast it in resin.

Carbon fiber is available in tubes. I have a piece sold by the archery shop for arrow shafts. It is very stiff, and also the walls are very thin, which puts turning out of the question. I think it is about 5/16" outside diameter.

I don't think turning carbon fiber will give the results you're looking for. Better to use a premade tube of it or lay it up yourself.
