I dabel... keep the family and friends in hunting knives. sell a few to keep myself in steel.

I just bought a couple of kits from Woodcraft. Big sale. Never tried before.

I have made one so far. It was one from texas knife makers and it was a fun project. I enjoyed it.

I make them for the family and a few freinds......gonna lay off pens a bit and do some bowyering, knife making and possibly flint napping after the holidays. I have a HUGE junk of obsidian just begging to be arrowheads!

I've made a few. Start with O1 tool steel, shape, heat treat, polish etc etc. Also made a few from Woodcraft.

I guess I would say that I'm a knife maker first and a pen turner second. I enjoy doing both, but knife making is my favorite.

I was curious because I have a cousin that is interested in it. He wants to do custom knives and not kits. We have an aquaintance that used to make them and I understand is willing to give him some pointers.

Not me but my Dad's been a full time maker since 1979 and a member of the knifemakers guild since 1976.
