I have a wholesale customer who wants pocket knives made with some special scales to match my pens. Here is what I am looking for:

A simple folding knife with special scales to match some nice pens. The scales will be the main attraction, but the knife should look good in a jewelry store. Wholesale price point under $125.

I'm guessing that the only way to meet the price would be a kit knife. Any ideas or suggestions? (And yes, I have told him that it isn't possible.)

That is doable with one of the kits The Penguin has linked us too. I'm going to do a test order, the edge is more important to me and my customers than it's look but if it's good steel and holds an edge, this would be a huge seller for me!

Might even try and take one north with me......what better way to test its edge?

"knife should look good in a jewelry store. Wholesale price point under $125."

That is an oxymoronic concept.
A nice utilitarian folding knife will be at least $125.00.
Jewelry store quality would be much-much higher. Unless, of course, you are considering a real schlump jewelry store.

Thanks for the nice suggestions. I had not found some of the suppliers mentioned and I am having fun looking at all of the choices.:knife::knife::knife::knife::smile:

Welcome back, Frank.

It is a bit funny, considering that I have $15 sets of pen parts made with special blank materials selling for over $450 in several very nice jewelry stores.

You said WHOLESALE price point! The knife will sell for $250 in the store, $250 for a small kit folder that has scales to match a pen is not unreasonable. Now if you hand folded Damascus steel and hand ground the blade and components then we are talking a whole other critter!

I am licensed wholesale knife dealer, find the knife or knife kit you want give me brand name & part #.

You can always buy a nice knife & make your own scales for it. Don't think it has to be a kit to make it a custom knife.

This is a Boker Magnum Damascus etched not true Damascus with Koa scales I made to replace the black aluminum ones it came with:
