Any Ideas what this is?

Got this in a box of turning stuff from another member. Anybody know what its for? Thought it may be a sanding jig of some sort.

It looks to me to MAYBE be a carriage stop. It clamps on the bed ways so you can repeatedly stop either a carriage on a metal lathe, or a tail stock on a wood lathe. I question myself on this one though.

I think you nailed it Carl. I purchased a wolverine jig from a member here a couple years back and he threw this in the box with it. He wasn't sure what it was either. The link you shared is exactly what it is.

Yeah!

I have been using a belt sander for years to sharpen my gouge. I bought that earlier this year. Maybe it's me, but I could not get it to work in any fashion to sharpen a gouge. I think I gave it away for the cost of shipping. I just picked up a wolverine for my grinder.
 
I played around with it this morning some. You can use it to end sand pen blanks, but its almost to much trouble to set up. It will go back into the parts drawer along with many other various contraptions to be repurposed some day.
