Any Clues on Wood?

So I got roped into putting some pens into the art exhibit at work, and was writing up the descriptions when I realized I have no idea what this wood is. My inventory lists it as "assorted figured" from a big box of blanks I picked up here a few years ago. If it helps, the finish is tung oil and CA.

Any ideas?

It looks very similar to cottonwood burl, anybody's guess though.

If that is what cotton wood looks like I am going to start cutting down some of those darn things. They are all over my property.
