As mentioned in previous posts, I have a customer who prefers Olympian Elite 2 Fountain Pens of "generous proportions". Here is the latest one I made for him. Wood is Bubinga, but I augmented the color with some alcohol-soluble aniline dye. (I did not feel that the unstained wood made the brass "pop" enough.) Brass inserts also complement the gold trim on the Olympian kit.

Comments/suggestions welcome.

I have mixed emotions about it, strictly based on personal opinions. I think Bubinga is a great looking wood and the segmenting looks great. Even with the thicker body you did very well on blending it into the hardware. I just prefer thinner pens. Well done.

Those are some ample bulges there, for sure!

Some people definitely like a beefier pen. I've had some people ask me why my pens are so thin a few times. There was this one kit...it had a laser pointer built in...beefiest kit I've ever made. Even without much bulge, that pen was HUGE. But some people love em!!
