Here is another modified cigar, I almost like it better than the one I posted a couple days ago. I'm not sure what the wood is - it was a tabletop carving that I bought in a resale shop for $3 and cut into some pen blanks. I'm wondering if it might be some type of palm. it was very porous, quite light and a little splintery. It has random graining in it that almost looks like it is a glue-up, but it isn't.

Thanks for looking. Comments/criticisms are welcome. If you think you know what the wood is, please let me know.

Looks like some Acacia that I have. Nice work too. Did you fill the space between the cap tube and the transmission?

I've been taking the standard black center band, cutting the flange off with my metal lathe, and pressing the resulting short tube into the lower end of the upper tube.

I got the idea from someone (Butch?) here on this forum.
