I made this one as a gift and the redesign is how I will do all of them now.
I used a tube in the ash section that fits inside the other tube instead of on the outside. This way there is no need for a space between the tube and the wood like the first ones. The old way was harder to make and there was the risk of getting glue in that space. I also added some small magnets in the base and a corresponding metal ring in the ash section. The fit is tight enough now that the magnets are not needed but eventually it will get warn and loose so the magnets will help keep it together. I also lengthened the base so that the ash could be made shorter. Finally, the smaller tube in the ash needed to be sanded out just a bit so the flashlight end would fit. It actually presses onto the flashlight and when it is assembled, you can turn on the flashlight just by turning the ash. A nifty unintended feature.
