another buffalo horn Q

Turned this down to this point with a very sharp gouge. I don't believe these are tooling marks. Is this normal in buffalo and is it worth finishing or will these marks take away from the quality? I started sanding and these seem to be an integral part of the horn. Any and all advice is very much appreciated!

Buffalo horn is not pure black... it often has gray streaks in it... what you see could just be a natural occurrence in the horn.

i have turned this lots of times, and you will get grays, browns, and almost yellows. Thats buffalo horn. Gets prettier once polished.
