Starts gettin cooler after that but in my mind Spring is almost here. I be doin the happy dance. Seasonal Affective Disorder sucks.

It is 5pm here, and still 50 degrees. Had the first warm day in awhile. Got all the ice off the driveway, and the gutters and downspouts are clear.

I was especially glad to see the ice gone off our patio steps. We had enormous icicles on the gutters above, and enough dripped and refroze in the past week that the steps got dripped on, and I didn't notice. I almost landed on my head the other day. Scared the you know what out of me. I go out each morning to throw out peanuts for the blue jays (about 2 dozen peanuts for 8-9 birds), and I am putting out a new suet cake almost daily for the 4 northern flickers and downy woodpecker. We also have anywhere from 3-5 squirrels that show up for peanuts. One knows me so well he sits at the back door in the morning, waiting for me to hand him one.

I used to think pen turning was my most expensive passtime. Now it is feeding the birds!

This has been a really cold winter for us and temps have stayed down longer as well, last winter was cold but not this cold. If this is becoming a trend then we all need to contact our state and federal reps to see what being done to slow global warming I reall tired of this cold.
 
Tomorrow's high will be 77, 74 on Saturday then 70 on Sunday :biggrin: I'm thrilled! I work mostly outside, so this is finally awesome! Oh yeah, I also just finished setting my new Jet 1221VS on my workbench so it should be a lovely weekend...

Two of my vehicles were toast this AM! (at 5:45 AM)... One a dead battery (suddenly came to life 2 hrs later); the other a "check engine" light (all checked out well at the repair shop - reset the light).

So tomorrow AM should go well!

But you are still EVIL!
 
Our local forecast of 77 degrees was WAY off! The high today ended up being a cool 91 degrees.

Anyone else have forecasted temperatures that were way off?
 
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday we had 3 inches of ice that brought everything to a grinding halt and left thousands without power for thee or four days. Today, it was 60 and warm.

This Global Warming is freezing my butt off!
 
Our forecast high today is 70, but it's 73 right now! I love it!! I vow to never complain of triple digit heat indexes again!! That stuff below 40 is for Northerners!
 
Still in short sleeves with the air on.It's been like this all winter here in San Diego.We are praying for some rain.I hate to hear the "ration" word.

Sure is great for making pens though!

Thank you for what you are doing. I happened to fly over Afghanistan the other day on my way to India. I saw nothing but snow and very high and very rough mountains. Please stay safe.
 
Thanks guys, but its just a job like the rest of you go too. I just dont have to decide what to wear on a day to day basis. This is my third trip over here in 6 years, durations from 6 to 8 months. There is a light at the end off the tunnel now, just a couple more months.

That's what I love about my job! I either wear Nomex coveralls or Nomex coveralls. Keeps things really simple!
