American chamber of commerce?

These folks finally got a hold me but I was not too keen to give them any info. They wanted too much info. When I said I never heard of them they quickly hung up. Does anyone know if this organization really exists?

Nope. There is a group associated with BBB or some credit agency that collects this information, but you would know who there were if you were into commercial banking.

Hayne; If a legitiment oraganization wants information from you, it will mail you a form with the correct letterhead and contact information on it. They want your answers in writing with your signature. The American Chamber of Commerce can be found in almost every country in the world in one form or another. It usualy oversees the commece comming into their country from the USA. It has nothing to do with the average person in the United States or anywhere for that matter, unless you are paying off some offical to smuggle something into his country. I always thought you didn't make all your money from pen sales. I never give out informaion over the phone!!! If they say they just want to compare or update the information they already have, ask them what they have on record at the present time. If they can't come up with anything or tell you they are not allowed to give out that information, just hang up!! Even with all the spam restrictions and security I have on my PCs, I must get 10-15 e-mails a day telling me I have won vast amounts of money, prizes, or I am going to be evicted from my house by the end of this month. Never open an attachment you are not sure of, and never give out personal information over the phone!!!! Jim S
