Hello All:
Any known problems with Amboyna and Honduran Rosewood Burl and a CA finish? I can either do a straight CA, or a CA/BLO finish. I know there can be issues with oily woods, but my experience is that these two are not in that category. Thanks for any and all feedback.

I use straight CA on all woods, including those two. I do wipe them with accelerator prior to applying the CA to remove any oil from the surface.

I use straight CA on both. After final sanding wipe the blank with some denatured alcohol and allow to dry (it evaporates very quickly). It takes off any surface oil that gets in the way of the CA.

I personally don't use BLO, never found it useful except in starting spontaneous fires

I have done CA/BLO and straight CA on Amboyna, both with no problems. I have not yet had the pleasure of turning HRB.
