Amboyna burl cigar

It's been an absolutely crazy week at work this week. Plus it's been pretty hot the last week or so and I wasn't able to spend any time in the shop unless I wanted to melt. I finally couldn't stand it any more, and I went out to the shop the other night with a piece of stabilized amboyna burl. Everything just seemed to go well while turning this pen. Cutting, drilling, gluing, trimming, turning, finishing and assembly went without a hitch.

Stabilized amboyna burl on a gold cigar. Finished with many coats of thin CA (lost count this time), polished with MM and then a couple applications of Hut's Ultra Gloss plastic polish.

Sorry for the bad lighting and white balance. These are cell phone shots taken at work when I had a spare minute.

Thanks! We had some company come over on Saturday. Ralph was wondering why I had a cup full of pens next to my laptop. When he saw this pen (and wrote with it), it did not leave his hand. I now need to make myself another one, and I'm out of amboyna...
