I get a real joy out of things like this. The talent that some people have is just amazing. There is a group on FB called Insider Art and on another forum someone posted this link and it is so cool what this guy can do with drywall compound. Anyone that has done drywalling and taping know what a mess it can be. he takes it to another level. So the next time your wife tell you to drywall the den and fix it up try this out and she would be amazed.

That is cool. You're right John, there is tons of talent out there. If I tried it, it'd look like a pile of mud on the wall right before it slid off the wall and would look like the same pile on the floor.

Incredible! I have enough time just making it smooth and hiding the joint under it.

Not doin it right ....

First layer, hide the major imperfections .... let it dry. As it dries, it shrinks a bit and you'll see the minor imperfections showing through.

Second layer, overcoat the area by 2 inches too far (less, if you're very skilled at it). Let it dry ... when dried, sand it flush to the wall, feathering the edges out for a smooth transition without a visible bump.
