i see a piece of wood and my brain goes
"hmm 183735 pen blanks"
"ooo thatd make 183645 shiny pens"
"wow the pretty shininess of a pen that would make"

then again i guess i'm not as bad as the people who see a gator and think
"hmm nice size jawbones for a pen"
or the snake skinners
"just the right size for a sierra pen"

how about when you wake up in the middle of the night and go "well if took a (insert any thing here) and put it in with some (insert almost anything else here), that would make a great cigar (or pen of choice), with gold trim". most of my better pens have been figured out in some variation of this scenario.
Its an addiction i tell ya!!

I go bananas when we go into a restaurant with antler chandeliers. I sit and count the number of pens I could make. Someone posted a thread about straightening antler and now I have to change the way I count the pens.

LOL, dont feel bad, i do the same thing as well. I think that is a good thing, it means we are challenging our brains to come up with new ideas. this is part of the reason that there is so much talent on this site!

Start them young

I'm in the process of teaching my grand daughter (weezer1994) to drive.

A few weeks ago we're out and she screams. "Grandpa....wood". She then pulls around the block and parks so we can look at and get some wood from a tree the city had just cut down.

Got'ta love the kid.
