Is the only reason Aluminite would stay liquid is adding the same part twice? does it have to be absolutely exact? It is very hard to achieve this! I am using a jewelry scale and still cannot seem to get the amounts exact. Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Alice

It does not have to be EXACT but then again, that depends on what the definition of exact is! I use a dial type of postal scale that had 1/2 oz graduations. I get close and that is good enough. Most likely I am off a few grams. It does not matter unless you are off significantly.
If you have some that has not set at all, then you certainly poured the same part twice or did not mix it at all.

Alice, what Curtis said. It does not have to be EXACT...in a 14 oz mix I may be off by a few grams and it still cures fine.
One other thing, make sure you are using part A and B of the same type of alumilite. I once did a pour of RC3 part A and my mistake added Water Clear Part B...the mix never hardened. But if you are only working with one type of alumilite right now then mamybe it was that you poured the same part twice.

When I used alumilite, I never weighed out my 'parts'. I used identical clear measuring containers and simply eyeballed that I had approximately the same amount in each. This always produced good results.
One time, I stupidly tried to just use one container to measure with and I did not get the two halves 'close enough'. The resulting funk did not remain liquid. It resulted in a nasty, gooey, semi-hard mess.

You should still be able to use it, right? If it hasn't hardened at all, you should be able to pour it back into a cup and mix in the other part. If you've mixed pigment with it, you'll end up with twice as much as you needed, but at least you don't have to waste all of it.
Even with the stink I so like PR better. It is so much easier to use. This is frustrating because the person I have for the trade is patiently waiting for their blanks. I was packing them the first time and dropped the box breaking the 2 best ones so I am trying to cast some new stuff. Thanks for your help everyone. I really did not think I needed a learning curve for Aluminite but I guess did. Alice

and if it don't set up; use a band saw cut off the sticky goo; and re-cast it.
