Hi All,

I have been thinking of incasing my turned blanks
in Alumilite. A quik dip and a thin coating of alumilite
which will dry hard and clear. I then would put it back
on the lathe and sand down till there is a thin coat.

What Think?

Seems like a spendy proposition. Unless you plan to use the leftovers quickly to make something else.

And if your goal is a really high shine... Many people top coat alumilite with CA because it alumilite does not shine as high as CA or PR.

I think you will have problems with bubbles. I don't see how you can mix the Alumilite, dip the pen, then get it into a pressure tank before the Alumilite sets on you.

However, as Bruce said, give it a test and let us know how it goes. You may just be the pioneer of the next best finish! :D
