Since I started turning pens in December of last year all of my pen supplies, kits and blanks have been kept in two card board boxes. I have looked at plastic storage containers, tackle boxes and a few other options. All the options I thought of had me digging in a box. I came up with a Steamer Trunk system that may work. I build Custom Cabinets and furniture and i wanted to be able to have everything in one box so when I do turn a few pens I have everything together. I like the idea of using pill containers for the bushings so I may revamp the way I have them stored. Here are a few pictures.

Very nice work! My Pen stuff is slowly pushing my hand tools out of my big roller box. 2 drawers now filled, soon to be 3.

Very smart and well done...!

Is only one problem I see....! unless you make a few of those, in no time you will be running out of room, in there as stock materials and gear, builds up faster than you may thing but for now, its a great idea...!

Cheers
George

If it doesn't fit in the Trunk I don't buy it. I have to have will power. One pen at a time George. Kind of like Eating off a small plate instead of using a serving plater.

Since you like organization so well, here is a plastic bin I found for my bushings. It is pretty good as it has small square lidded containers that all fit in a larger lidded container. I used a plastic bin that did not have separate inside bins and it worked, until I spilled it. UGH!! I now have a huge pile of bushings that I have been trying to sort. It is NOT fun I can assure you. I used my label maker to label the containers as I sort, and hopefully one day I will get it all organized. I was concerned about the sizes, but they are actually perfectly sized.

Thanks Everyone. It will be nice to turn a pen without having to dig in a cardboard box or have everything all over the work bench. Good find Mitch I will check my local Harbor freight. Sounds like you need one on wheels Penguin. Now that is idea. Roll it out open it up and everything is at your finger tips and not taking up bench space. Thanks for asking Neededwill Labor and materials would put the final cost upwards of 350 to 400 dollars. A high cost when a plastic tackle box will work. But then who said this is a cheap hobby. If anyone is interested let me know.
