I was expecting a Large flat rate box of some of Kalai's wonderful Koa....

Letter arrived in the mail today...

"Sorry, but we're going to destroy that lovely wood! Sincerely, Canada."

That's a big ol' bummer! I was really looking forward to that wood - Chris has some amazing blanks - and I'm pretty sure he treats the wood before he sent it anyway.

So that really sucks! Hopefully they send the wood back to Chris instead of burning it, as his koa wood is spectacular!

I thought Canada was supposed to be one of those "neutral" countries. Now they're waging war against wood?! Whats that all about, eh?

Andrew,
I presume they have their reasons. But at least they owe you an explanation. And above all, "Canada" is not an administration's signature. They have to identify themselves. Seemingly they don't. If I was you, I'd do all I can to identify them. As the colleague wrote above, who are they: the postal service, the customs???

I'm thinking that Andrew was using a touch of humor and that that wasn't the exact verbiage or sig from the letter.

That being said, I'm a little surprised that we don't see this problem more often as we import wood to feed our addiction.

I'm still waiting for a shipment that was sent by one of the members on here, posted mid January, I think some one in Customs/Australia Post does pen making and thought it was a good deal. At least you got a letter to say that you weren't going to get it!!!
