It's probably been done before but here's a newbies solution. Have a generic Woodcraft barrel trimmer kit and a carbide cutter head with two reamers but found them to be real grabby, and expensive to buy reamers at $11 a pop for each size needed for other kits so came up with this rig from things already in my tool arsenal. Mount the best fitting pen disassembly punch for the barrel/tube being sanded in the collet chuck and mount in the tail stock. Drill chuck with 120 grit sanding disc in the headstock, set speed about 500 rpm and push the barrel into the disc. Sands well, is accurate and is very controllable. Think it will function better with a hard backing on the sanding disc, will make one from sandpaper glued to a waste block on a faceplate. Alternatively, could use a drill chuck to hold the pen punch. Frequently clean the disc with a brush.
