Adding text to a pen.

I've seen some pens that have names and text on the sides of the blanks. Other than laser what other options are there? I have some people asking me for gift pens with names and dates on them.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Waterslide decals same type you put on models as a youth. They are printed on inkjet or laser color printers. CA'd on top, look great.
