I have been looking at these and thinking of ordering a set. Barry Gross seems to like them in his DVD. Is anyone else using these and if so, what is your opinion. Are they worth the price? Do they work well and do they last? Am I just as well off staying with Micro Mesh? What are the pros and cons?

Thanks for any discussion you can add.

Abralon pads are great for a nice polish to the wood, however if you plan on a CA finish you will still need MM. Those pads will not work for acrylics as they will melt.

Bob,
Every pen turner must decide what works best for them. Probably you will receive many different methods and answers.

Are they worth the price? - For me, yes

Work well and last? - I have been using the same set for two years and they continue to work well, paticularly on hard wood.

Micro Mesh ? - Have never used it, but I'm sure it works well for those that choose to finish with it.

Pros/Cons ? - I am very happy with the removal of fine scratches which works well with the French polish finish I put on all wooden pens. No negatives thus far.
