I hope all is ok with the recent request from "Tina" a disabled person asking for any help that may be available in regards to materials for turning.
Before I continue; many of you may have scanned or looked down at the length of this posting thinking "what in the world? Why is this so long?" Let me say this; which may hopefully explain why it is so long and unorganized. I ask that you please excuse my mixed up words and thought process in compiling this message – part of my disability affects my ability to concentrate and either say / type all the thoughts that are bouncing around in my head….Be thankful I have spell check here – otherwise none of this would make sense!
<I have actually finished typing my posting and have come back to add this part to it so it may better explain what I am trying to say…As long as this posting it has taken me almost two hours now to type it out>
Know back to the subject.
In the previous thread one of the member's responses mentioned that they also suffered from a disability then they quickly changed that explaining that it was a blessing not a burden. To add to that I would like to say that God uses every aspect of our lives – weather we consider it to be good or bad – It has happened to fulfill his purpose and will be used to bless one person or thousands of people. No offense to anyone – perhaps I should not discuss religion in this type of forum….Hopefully too many of you don't mind?
I was encouraged and touched to see such a HUGE response to Tina's request.
As I read through most of each individual response I started seeing that there may be some concern from some of those individuals that replied and or already sent items to this individual.
Along the same topic which finally brings my reason for posting this essay of a thread is in regards to "Generosity" & helping those in need etc. Specifically those of you in this group!
I would like to take the opportunity to formally and publically thank a member of this group – perhaps they do not want me to say who they are so I will only tell you there initial --- Leroy --- See I told you my train of thought was hard to keep up with it….
In all seriousness – I would like to say thank you to Leroy for the Extremely Generous package of kits that was sent to me just a couple of weeks ok.
I hope everyone that has been able to stay with this lengthy posting can still decipher what I have been trying to relay – If not it might be easier or simpler for you to here what I am thinking rather than what I am typing….LOL
Many of you may recall the posting in the trade classified area a couple of weeks ago about a posting that asked those in need and had interest in some free kits of various types to respond via direct email rather than a general reply or PM within the forum. This may have been to keep things on the down low or low down (whichever way my teenager puts it…lol) so I hope the individual does not mind my public recognition
To quickly explain the circumstances – I debated sending an email requesting to be considered for the gift basically due to the thought that there is always someone else in need more than you – in my case "me"
The offer was to only pay shipping to receive a large number of really cool kits – If purchased retail this gift that Leroy sent would be well over $200 perhaps even twice that!!!!
I did send Leroy a personal email upon receiving the package – After reading through the recent request and seeing the concern from many people thinking they may have been scammed please know and understand this one simple thing. You gave from your hearts – without a second thought to it you replied to this outreach from a person in need – Regardless of the outcome or the end result, you did what you did and should not feel any less wonderful for it!
I too had the thought of sharing some of the gift that Leroy sent me, however out of respect for Leroy alone I decided not to extend the offer. I did promise Leroy that I would one day "Pay It Forward" – I am a man of my word – regardless of my physical or mental "blessings" I will always hold tight to my honor, integrity, morals and ethics. I started turning as a way to release many demons within me through a dark time in my life. The hobby has turned into a blessing and is helping to subsidize my family income to keep our household going. I typically only buy supplies when I have a coupon or there is a sale of some sorts – Recently there have been several that have been great and will hopefully help me rebuild my inventory of various items for my ebay store.
I keep a check on notices posted of good deals from suppliers – If anyone ever knows of a sale or deal on turning goods and would kindly mark me as a "friend" in the forum to let me know of it that would be awesome!
Thank you for your time and interest in reading through this posting that was WAY to long…..My full intent was two fold – Encourage those that gave to the recent request and may have some concern of it's intention / outcome – AND to say – THANKYOU LEROY – Your gifts will be a huge blessing to me and I pray that it is returned ten fold to you. Although I did not share in the recent request for help – My promise to you to "Pay It Forward" will be kept strong in my mind and heart and completed in your name one day.
