I had to read the problem twice because it seemed like he answered the question the first time around.
He could have said "trade the old model in for a newer flashier model like her husband was test driving."

See, this is a perfect example why it's important to have a cell phone handy at all times to call for help rather than get out and start walking for help. That, and most insurance companies offer free or low cost roadside assistance, she should look into these plans.

Debris in the fuel line is rarely a problem these days. Not likely the solution.

The answer makes sense to me since the car is fixable, but the second problem, the husband, isn't. At least not in my mind.

When I first started working in construction, my Journeyman stressed when on the road and headed home, always call home at least 90 miles out. That gives her the time to get the boy friend out of the house before you arrive. It is amazing how many marriges can be saved by a simple call made in time.
