When you are filling a void or crack with turquoise or other gemstone, you can make it "Pop" by washing the void with thin CA and dusting it with a thin layer of black embossing powder. Then fill with stone and turn as usual. The inlay will have a thin black outline.

Thanks for sharing, Sharon. Great idea. I would also like to know what is embossing powder and where you can get it.

Thanks!

Embossing powder is a fine powder used when doing things like stamping paper. Sprinkle it over the letters or image then use a heat gun to melt it. It gives a raised effect. I don't have any or do scrapbooking ect so I use what I have...coffee grounds LOL I keep a big can to place leftovers inside then it sits out in the sun to dry, I stir it up from time to time or it can mold.

Sharon, thanks for sharing that idea. Sounds like the result would be very nice. Will have to try that. Believe the embossing powder could be found at Michaels, Hobby Looby or another craft store.

Yes, the embossing powder comes in little jars at any hobby/craft shop for a dollar or so a jar. It comes in many different colors as well as glitter. I use the glitter in stylus pens for teens.

Here is a picture of an inlay with a fine line of black embossing powder
