A thought on a donation drawing...

Memorial Day is coming up relatively soon and I have been giving thought, actually quite a bit of thought over the past couple weeks, about holding a donation drawing where all proceeds would be donated to an organization such as SupportOurTroops.org.

The drawing winners would win pens that we as a community provide for the donation drawing. Pens would be somehow patriotic and supporting our troops. Red/white/blue theme, etc.

I was just wondering what everyone thinks of that idea. Yes - the IAP donation drawing helped me come up with the idea :biggrin:

I've PM'd Richard about this and will let everyone here know also. I appriciate Richard's willingness to get involved. All fundraising that takes place on the IAP is for IAP site support. There are many, many very worthy causes out there which our members are involved in and support. If we started hosting fundraisers for all the worthy charities or causes we would soon be overwhelmed.

The IAP is a charitable group of people and there is something that can be done which doesn't involve raising funds.

Check out Service Pens for Servicemen (and women :biggrin I'm sure Gary Mc Gg would appreciate the support. In fact, he recently posted this. Donating a few pens to our men and women in uniform would be a great way to celebrate Memorial Day.
