No it's not a pens but…
I have made several hemp wood shave sets, pens, bottle stoppers and razors. Each was a challenge, but I succeeded somehow. I think I must be getting better at turning because the standard (not stabilized) shave brush behaved surprisingly well with no issues. I bought it from Ed at Exotic Blanks.
Enter Kate Harrow of Bullseye Turning Supplies with stabilized hemp wood. The stuff is great!!! It cuts well, drills well, turns VERY well, sands smoooth and so CA finish goes in smoothly with no catches if my blue towels. I'm sold!
NOTE: I don't care if you use something else so don't tell me about it. I'm happy for you.
The results are great. There is a smooth glossy CA finish over the hemp wood and the pieces feel great.
