Happy New Year to all of you in our close knit IAP community.

I have not posted very much this past year. In fact I don't think I initiated a single new posting. I had originally planned on doing something segmenting and kitless pen making, but that never happened. This past year has been a challenging series of ups and downs for me and my family. My older brother passed away earlier in the year after a long battle with MS. I retired after 21 years in Law Enforcement mid-way through the year, and then was diagnosed with cancer over the summer. I have since gone through treatment for the cancer, and the prognosis is good, so I am very grateful for that.

So why am I writing all of this?

Well, while I was not able to be very active in pen making, I was able to keep my passion alive through the regular postings from all of you. I never missed an evening of logging on and reading all the questions and comments posted, and all of the photos of truly awesome pens. So to all you I want to say thank you for making IAP a great on-line community. Your postings not only keep the pen making community active, but also act as a diversion when life hits those rough spots.

I am also making a commitment to all of you, to be more active by posting more and sharing my knowledge and experiences in pen making. My hope is to bring something to the table with each and every post. Whether that is a new pen design, and new jig or shop idea, or simply a form of inspiration; my hope is to have as much of a positive impact on all of you, as you had on me.

Once again, I want to thank all of you for making IAP a great community, and wishing everyone a bright and fulfilling New Year.

Welcome. Sorry to hear of your loss and health issues. I have found that any kind of turning to be relaxing to a point, unless I get a catch. I shut out the world when I close the shop door to concentrate on the tasks at hand.

Happy New Year, Tim. My condolences on the loss of your brother, but I'm happy to hear that your prognosis is good. Thanks for your many years of service in law enforcement! I'm looking forward to more of your posts.

Tim

Wishing you health , happiness and joy where ever life takes you.

There are times when this is a great way to relax or chat with like minded people . Sometimes that's just what we all need.

Look forward to hearing more from you.
