I had a momentary lapse of reason while playing Black Sabbath Paranoid on 78 speed and backwards.............. this fell off my lathe.
The kit is Penn State Crown Jewel in gold https://www.pennstateind.com/store/PKRYL24.html
The wood is olive wood and the finish is 3 coats of spray lacquer.
And yes that is the brass tube showing between the segments. Tube was set in the blank with 30 minute epoxy .
Will see how this goes 🤪

Very cool idea. Looks great. Using spray lacquer is a brilliant idea as it will prevent the inevitable tarnishing of the brass !!!

What I remember being told in High School was that Heavy Metal, and especially backwards, lead to bad things. I'd say you've done well.

Het Kenny Thanks for looking in and your comments.

Ah high school ..........the best 7 years of my life 😁
In my junior and senior years I went to a trade school , drafting & design was the course.
The teacher I had was pretty cool we were allowed to play any music in the room we wanted on every other day. On the days between he played his music mostly classical . Today I have a broad appreciation to just about all music that I attribute back to being subjected to classical back in the wild days of my youth.
