A New Lathe

I've seen posts where people find good deals for tools on Craigslist. I was perusing the tool section and found this. I should be able to produce a pen with it.

While looking through Craiglist, I found someone that has an incomplete built cnc machine. I have contacted them and I was told they lost interest after they realized they got in over their head. It is only a few months old, but needs completed. They have everything to finish the build.

I can get it for next to nothing and he will take my Shopsmith as a partial trade. He has wanted one and would like to have it.

I believe his machine is a better fit for me, since it can do much more than a Shopsmith and I already have the experience and software to control it.

We are going to look at it later this week.

It seems a bit on the small size. I looking for one that I could turn 2 or 3 hundred pens at one time and that is computer controlled to cut, drill, trim, turn, sand and finish.

hmmm it does not look like a MT2 on the end.. I cant afford new mandrels...
