Although this looks like wood for flat work, over 90% of it will actually be used as turning wood after laminating the various contrasting colors for all kinds of turning projects.
I just got back from a mini three day holiday south of the border and found some nice wood to bring back with me .
I leaned it against my lathe bed for a picture and from left to right is Padauk, Cherry, Hard Maple, Purpleheart , and Walnut .
I had them cut 4' off the 10' boards so it would fit in my van.
Around here we get charged 1" for 3/4" thick wood. This is all planed at a full 1" thick . Also , around here, if it is (for example) 11.5" wide I always get charged for 12" whereas where I got this they give honest bd ft measure of the actual board width
