Folks, I know what I am about to say is not new to many of you, but it was a first for me. Like so many of you, I have been contributing pens to the various troop drives, including Freedom Pens and Gary's on-going efforts. Today, I received the nicest email from a Lt. at Bagram, thanking me for a pen of mine. Can you imagine him thanking me? After dealing with excess moisture in my eyes suddenly, I wrote a reply turning those thanks around. I truly hope he gets the email reply. I also asked him if he would allow my wife and I to send him "goodie" packages, like we have done others before. Come to find out, this man and his wife used to turn pens before his military service started. His compliments on the pen I thought went even deeper because he had turned pens himself.
We all know that we don't need to be thanked by our military folks, but I have to tell you, when you do get one, it is very profound. I hope I can build a correspondence with this Lt.
I know I don't have to say this, but I am so glad that I can contribute even a little bit to these foundations, and I truly thank the rest of you that do so much more. Ok, I will step down off my soapbox now, but I appreciate the chance to let it out.
God bless our troops, and all of you that help those causes.
