Folks, I know what I am about to say is not new to many of you, but it was a first for me. Like so many of you, I have been contributing pens to the various troop drives, including Freedom Pens and Gary's on-going efforts. Today, I received the nicest email from a Lt. at Bagram, thanking me for a pen of mine. Can you imagine him thanking me? After dealing with excess moisture in my eyes suddenly, I wrote a reply turning those thanks around. I truly hope he gets the email reply. I also asked him if he would allow my wife and I to send him "goodie" packages, like we have done others before. Come to find out, this man and his wife used to turn pens before his military service started. His compliments on the pen I thought went even deeper because he had turned pens himself.

We all know that we don't need to be thanked by our military folks, but I have to tell you, when you do get one, it is very profound. I hope I can build a correspondence with this Lt.

I know I don't have to say this, but I am so glad that I can contribute even a little bit to these foundations, and I truly thank the rest of you that do so much more. Ok, I will step down off my soapbox now, but I appreciate the chance to let it out.

God bless our troops, and all of you that help those causes.

I tell you....when I was at Bagram, nothing made your day more than simple corrospondance or a quick goodie package. I received a letter from an 8 year old girl when I was there wishing me the best and saying she was proud of me and hoped I didn't get hurt. I kept that on the wall of my hut for the entire time I was there last. I have it framed at my house now.

I received an email last night from the USS Enterprise, so I know exactly how you feel. You are humbled and walking on clouds at the same time.

Thank you for supporting my brothers in arms.

Well, I know just how you feel, I have been meeting montly,( minus a couple of meeting)for over a year now with a group of men on the redstone arsenal in Huntsville and we turn pens for the troops. I have gotten a couple of Thank You emails from some of them that recieved the pens, and it trually is a humbling experience to get them. I really appreciate all of our service men and women present and past for their service. And I really appreciate the opportunity to help out with this great project. I also want to thank the other IAP members that meet with us. And for those of you that provide the blanks and kits for these pens, I say THANKS to you also. So lets all keep turning them!!!
