And A little sneak preview…
Not only has turning given me a great hobby, but it has introduced me to some great people and best of friends. Last Saturday I had the opportunity to hangout with two of them… Mark Dreyer and " The Father of Penturning" Dick Sing. Mark and I had the honor of filming Dick's latest demonstration on how he makes Precision Inlays for a number of projects. It was mind blowing, as he usually is. I know that man has forgotten more than I'll ever know. Here's a few pictures of his projects where he uses inlays. What I admire most about him is he turns items he uses in everyday life from pocket watches, bolos, lamp knobs, jar lids and more. I had bought a few of his books starting out and years later found out he lives 45 mins from me. Truly a great guy and lots of fun.
The demonstration is part of the upcoming virtual event. Here's the original post if anyone's interested in attending…
