A few "corny" pens

I made 12 corncob cigar pens for the advisory board where i work. I had then engraved and then back filled with black. I wrapped each pen with corn shucks and then packed them in a crate i made. Pictures taken with my phone.

The husk is a 'nice touch'!
Wish the focus was a little better on the pen though.....hard to really see what is happening here?

Nice touch with the husk !! A little stain on your blank would make your corn POP. Jim S

I have used Alcohol inks in the past, but food color would also work. The difference in density in the cob will make a contrasting color come out. Jim S

Natural would be the way to go for your application !! Pens look super, wraps are uniqe, presentation box fits the theme perfectly. All in all a Grade A bit of craftsmanship. Jim S

Excellent idea. I especially like the wrapping -- those Cigar pens are, after all, quite 'husky' to begin with. :wink:
